The Barbeque Grill: Best barbecue recipes to try during winter

Summer is over, but don’t put away the grill just yet! You can now complement your soup meals with these recipes and keep your taste buds happy.

Meatball bombs

This recipe is perfect for the kids! If you’re having trouble getting them to eat vegetables, try this meatball recipe. 

What you need:

  • 2 yellow onions
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1/4 cup onions, diced
  • 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup mushrooms, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. spicy ketchup
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup Panko bread crumbs
  • 1 pack of bacon
  • 1 bottle of BBQ sauce

Chicken barbecue bread

Bread lovers will surely love this unique and easy-to-make bread barbecue. Simply make a mixture of chicken, cheese, onion and sauce and stuff it in a hollowed bread loaf. 

What you need:

  • 3 cups shredded chicken (I use rotisserie chicken)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • 1/4 of red onion, chopped
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 3/4 cup barbecue sauce, divided
  • 1 baguette crusty bread

Grilled chicken nachos

Have you tried grilling nachos? If you haven’t yet, give it a try now! You would only need to put the chicken, shredded cheese and sauce over the nacho, and you’re good to go. 

We recommend using a foil boat for this so you can melt the cheese on top while keeping the chips crispy.

What you need:

Nachos:

  • 8 ounces tortilla chips
  • 2 cups finely grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup chopped cooked chicken meat (a rotisserie chicken is great for this)
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce

Sour cream BBQ sauce:

  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup BBQ sauce

Volcano potato

This recipe makes for a perfect side dish or snack whenever you’re hungry. To make this, just bake the potato and hollow it out. Then, stuff the rest of the ingredients in and grill! You can even experiment with the sauces and filling if you want!

What you need:

  • 2 large russet potatoes
  • 8 bacon slices
  • 4 slices of smoked turkey deli meat
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon of hot sauce
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons diced green onions

Coca-cola ribs

If you’re craving for something sweet and savoury, try this Coca-cola ribs recipe! It’s easy to make and will leave you wanting more after every bite.

Simply grill the ribs as per usual because the important factor in this recipe is the sauce. Combine all the ingredients listed below and bring it to a boil. Puree the mixture with a blender and brush it all over the meat!

What you need:

  • 2/3 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 small white onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1½ tablespoons yellow mustard
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 can Coca-Cola
  • Salt & freshly ground black pepper, to taste
